The Multidisciplinary Breast Center brings together the know-how and experience of surgeons, gynecologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists with special interest in breast diseases and spending all or the major part of their time in 'Breast'. About 740 new breast cancer patients are seen each year. Protocols and internal guidelines for diagnosis and treatment are regularly updated. Diagnosis and treatment of benign breast diseases, risk assessment and genetic counselling is available. A huge tumor and blood bank linked to our datamanagement system is the basis for clinical and tranlational research. Patient information an support is provided by breast care nurses, social workers, psychologists and a sexuologist. KanActief is a rehabilitatin program including physical reeducation, information and psychosocial support after treatment for breast cancer. Patients have access to indivualised information linked to there personal electronic files: MyUZ.
