The Breast Unit of San Raffaele Hospital was established in 2001 according to the EUSOMA (European Society of Mastology) guidelines. The Unit consists of staff working very closely together creating a well integrated multidisciplinary team (Surgery, Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Oncological Psicology, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery). All the cases are collegially discussed by the various experts twice a week: the diagnostic and therapeutic choices are always shared with the patients.
