The Breast Center MultiMedica has recognized specialists with experience at prestigious international institutions and has clinical and research collaboration with breast centers in Switzerland (Italian Switz) and with the University of Insubria. The center is a place of care designed to meet the demands of women with breast diseases. Our multidisciplinary approach (radiologists, pathologists, gynecologists, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, radiation therapists, specialist nurses and psychologists) provides a round-clinical care, which starts from screening or diagnostic imaging, continues with preoperative assessment with cyto-histological diagnosis, surgery with available immediate breast reconstruction and medical and radiotherapy management. The Breast Unit MultiMedica Castellanza offers a last generation technique, Intraoperative radiotherapy or IORT (Intraoperative Radiation Therapy), which allows administration of a high radiation dose at the site of the lesion tumor during surgery.
