Historically in Genoa two main Institutions cooperate in the field of breast cancer management: the National Cancer Institute (UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 certification) and the breast Unit of SanMartino University hospital (UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 certification), unified, at present,in the IRCCS SanMartino-IST that is a public no-profit institution. The dedicated team offers a multidisciplinary approach for diagnosis and treatment of breast pathology. Therefore, the institution is a centre of National interest and an integral part of the regional health service.
