The new breast unit of Complejo Hospitalario of Vigo has been working at Mexoeiro Hospital since May 2010. It´s the result of the union of the multidisciplinary teams of two big public Hospitals of our health area. In our unit we assist both benign and malignant breast diseases, and we offer all diagnostic procedures and multimodality treatments performed by an updated team (oncoplastic breast surgery, sentinel node biopsy, imediate or delayed breast reconstruction, primary chemotherapy...). We also work in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Screening Program of our autonomous region. Our next aim is to reach the requested quality standards to get EUSOMA accreditation for the new Breast Unit.
