The Breast Center of University Hospital Salzburg, Department of Senology, was founded in 1987. The Breast Center Salzburg is located in the heart of Austria serving a population of more than 500,000 people in the Salzburg County as well as national patients from other parts of Austria and international patients from Europe and overseas. The Breast Center offers the complete range of modern diagnostic, therapeutic and aftercare facilities and is a precursor in the development and implementation of intraoperative radiotherapy for breast cancer patients. Modern and well equipped rooms with park view are available and friendly well-trained nurses care for the patients. The multidisciplinarity is provided not only by the slogan “breast care is a team sport” but multi- and interdisciplinarity is provided by close collaboration among all core team members and affiliated services.
The Breast Unit is initially accredited by EUSOMA.
