The Breast Cancer Center of Jolimont Hospital, located in La Louvière, is committed to providing breast cancer patients with a personalized program that focuses on risk identification, screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. About 180 new cases are treated each year. Our force stands in our model of multidisciplinary and collaborative care that improves efforts to offer the best possible cancer care today with all breast cancer specialists. More than 20 specialists enrolled in different disciplines (radiology, surgery, radiotherapy, oncology, pathology, etc…) review each week all new diagnoses and follow-up cases, examining treatment options according to the most recent international guidelines and making use of the most modern techniques. Our members developed a high-quality web of collaborations between clinical and laboratory investigators, providing an opportunity for patients to participate in clinical and translational research. We joined the Belgian validation program of Gene Expression Profiling. The patients and their families are crucial: we provide a rehabilitation program that incorporates physical, psychological and social aspects.
