The multidisciplinary breast group of Kocaeli University Hospital meets the highest standards. A highly qualified group with surgeons, pathologist, radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists and others weekly meets and discusses every cases. They plan diagnostic procedures, types of surgery, types of breast reconstruction, neoadjuvan and adjuvant treatments. In our hospital, surgeons and specialized plastic surgeons together offer and make every kind of oncoplastic breast surgery. There are also a comprehesive rehabiitation team and psychological support. We operated 250 new cases in 2011 and they also got oncological treatments in our unit. We adopted sentinel node procedure with blue dye or radio-tracer technique or both about 10 years ago. We also support and take inside postgraduate multidisciplinary and multicenter monthly educational meetings (called MAYMET) with both Kocaeli and Istanbul.
