Our largest i Latvia patient-centred breast unit has a dedicated multidisciplinary team, including radiologists, breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiotherapists and pathologists and provides modern breast cancer treatment. Full range of services, from screening procedures to complete diagnosis, using MG, USS, MR imaging, and tissue sampling is provided in our outpatient clinic. Multidisciplinary meetings are performed before surgery to define treatment strategy. Oncoplastic surgery is a standart approach in our breast surgery that helps us to manage esthetical problems caused by the oncological procedures. The callaboration with plastic and reconstructive surgeons allows our patients to feel comfortable even after advanced stage cancer surgery. Sentinel lymph node biopsy, using blue-dye and Radio-tracer methods, and frosen section studies are used as the standard procedure for more precise staging the axilla. The following multidisciplinary meeting defines further treatment strategy. The aim of our work is to reach the maximum oncological recovery available and to ensure the better cosmesis and psycological comfort for all our patients.
